SUPER LAWYERS

Rawle & Henderson transportation attorneys Timothy J. Abeel and Robert A. Fitch have been selected as 2014 Super Lawyers by Law & Politics. Tim was selected as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer and Bob was selected as a New York Metro Super Lawyer.  Super Lawyers selects attorneys each year for recognition through a rigorous nomination process that includes peer review by practice area and independent research on candidates. Only the top 5% of the lawyers are chosen annually for this honor.

Tim Abeel is Chair of the Commercial Motor Vehicle Section and has defended transportation companies in the state and federal courts of Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and Delaware for more than 30 years. Tim graduated, magna cum laude, from the State University of New York at Albany and received his J.D. from the Temple University School of Law. Tim was one of the founders of the Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA) and he served as President of TIDA in 2000-2001. From 1994 to 2003, he was a member of the TIDA Board of Directors. His clients include some of the largest transportation companies and insurers of commercial motor vehicles in the United States. He is a member of the Executive Committee of Rawle & Henderson LLP.   Tim has been rated AV Preeminent and has been selected as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for 11 consecutive years.

Bob Fitch is the resident partner in the Rawle & Henderson LLP New York office. He concentrates his practice in the defense of architects and engineers, construction, medical and oral surgery malpractice claims, and commercial motor vehicle litigation. He received his undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law. He is admitted to practice in New York since 1974, as well as in federal courts in Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. He has tried over 100 cases to verdict and is a member of the Defense Research Institute, Federal Bar Council, PIAA and Trucking Industry Defense Association. He has a peer review rating by Martindale-Hubbell of AV (the highest). He was also selected as a New York Metro Super Lawyer in 2013.

PENNSYLVANIA RISING STAR

Rawle & Henderson transportation attorney David R. Chludzinski has been selected as a 2014 Pennsylvania Rising Star by Super Lawyers and Law & Politics Magazine. Rising Stars are the top 2.5 percent of attorneys in Pennsylvania who are 40 years old and younger or have been in practice for 10 years or less.

David R. Chludzinski is an associate in our Pittsburgh office.  He concentrates his practice on the defense of commercial motor vehicles and their insurers.  David earned his law degree from the Dickinson School of Law at Penn State University.  While attending law school, he was a Comments Editor on the International Law Review and he received the C.A.L.I. Award for advanced pre-trial advocacy. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Boston College. David is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and in the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Pennsylvania.  David was also recognized as a Pennsylvania Rising Star in 2012 and 2013.

ABA TIPS APPOINTMENT

Nigel A. Greene, a partner in the Philadelphia office, has been appointed Vice-Chair of the ABA Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) Commercial Transportation Litigation General Committee for the 2014-2015 fiscal year.  Nigel’s term will continue through August 4, 2015. His appointment is in recognition of his professional abilities and reputation among 25,000 TIPS members. This will be the second one-year term that Nigel has served in this position.

Nigel focuses his practice on the defense of commercial motor vehicles, complex commercial litigation and casualty and premises liability matters. In addition, he serves as an arbitrator in Philadelphia County. He is admitted to practice in the state courts of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1994 and his B.A. from the Virginia Polytechnic and State University in 1989.
