New Workers’ Compensation partner Zach Rubinich

NEW PARTNER: WORKERS’ COMPENSATION

Zachary M. Rubinich has joined Rawle & Henderson LLP as a partner in the Philadelphia office. He focuses his practice on the defense of insurance carriers, self-insured entities and third-party administrators against workers’ compensation claims in Pennsylvania. Based on his extensive experience, the Pennsylvania Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Law Section has certified him as Specialist in the practice of workers’ compensation law.

Zach has handled all aspects of litigation before workers’ compensation judges, the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board, the Commonwealth Court and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.  He routinely counsels employers, insurance carriers and third party administrators on claims management, workplace safety, return-to-work programs, employment practices and risk management.

He was recently selected as a member of the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice (TIPS) Workers’ Compensation and Employers’ Liability Law Committee for 2014-2015.  Zach is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell. He has been selected as a Pennsylvania Rising Star by Super Lawyers from 2010 to 2014.

Zach earned his J.D. from Widener University Commonwealth Law School and his B.A. in political science and government from Lycoming College. He is a member of the Alumni Board of Directors of Widener University School of Law.

KOMEN RACE FOR CURE TEAM HONORED

Rawle & Henderson’s 2014 Komen Race for the Cure race team Henderson for Higgins Struts for the Sabos was honored in July at the Komen Appreciation Celebration at SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia. The race team won the First Annual Law Firms for the Fight Award and was the biggest and highest-fundraising law firm team in 2014.

Patrice O’Brien, an associate in our Philadelphia office who was also the race team’s organizer (on the right in photo), accepted the award. The firm’s race team had 68 participants and raised $8,592. In 2013 the firm raised over $6,000. Over the last seven years, Rawle & Henderson’s team has raised over $51,000. Jeannine Donahue, 2014 Race for the Cure Co-chair and Young Survivors and The Big Pink Footprint peer leader (on the left) presented the award to O’Brien.

The Henderson for Higgins Struts for the Sabos team honored for the seventh year in a row the firm’s former partner,
Ann-Michele Higgins, who lost her struggle with breast cancer in September 2007. This year the firm lost another member of its family to breast cancer. Nancy J. Sabo, wife of partner Michael G. Sabo, Esq., lost her courageous eight-and-a-half-year fight against breast cancer on January 24, 2014 at the age of 53. Nancy was an active woman who loved sports, music and dancing. She loved the Mummers and the New Year’s Day Parade.
