January 2016: New Partners, Of Counsel, Announcements

NEW PARTNERS

Linda Dobbins, an attorney in the firm’s Philadelphia office, was elected a partner effective January 1, 2016.  Linda earned her law degree, cum laude, from Widener University in 1996. She was a member of the National Moot Court Honor Society. She graduated from Trenton State College, cum laude, with a B.S. degree in 1992.  She served as an Intern with the Honorable Virginia Long, Presiding Judge of the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division, Trenton, New Jersey, and as a Law Clerk for the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

Linda is an experienced attorney who focuses her practice on toxic and mass tort defense.  She is admitted to practice in the state courts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Linda was the Recipient of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas First Judicial District’s Roll of Honor award from the District’s Pro Bono Committee for her pro bono service in Philadelphia’s legal community.

Anthony D. Luis, an attorney in our New York City office, was elected a partner effective January 1, 2016. He concentrates his practice with the defense of clients involving commercial motor vehicle litigation, medical malpractice, oral surgery and dental malpractice, architectural and engineering malpractice, construction litigation, workers’ compensation and commercial litigation. Anthony served as an Assistant District Attorney in Queens as a prosecutor in the Homicide Investigation Unit, Domestic Violence Unit, and the Felony Trial Bureau where he tried numerous cases to verdict including several jury trials.

He is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, and before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Anthony received his J.D. from Western New England University School of Law in Springfield, MA in 1999. He earned a B.A. in Political Science and English in 1996 from State University of New York at Geneseo.

OF COUNSEL

Rawle & Henderson LLP is pleased to announce that David R. Chludzinski, Patrice O’Brien and Cheng I. To have been named Of Counsel to the Firm.   

David R. Chludzinski concentrates his practice on the defense of commercial motor vehicles and their insurers. David earned his J.D. from he Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law in 2005. While attending law school, he was a Comments Editor on the International Law Review and he received the C.A.L.I. Award for advanced pre-trial advocacy. He earned his B.A., cum laude, from Boston College in 2001. David is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Pennsylvania.  David was selected as a “Pennsylvania Rising Star” by Super Lawyers and Law & Politics Magazine in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.  He was elected to a three-year term on the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Civil Litigation Section Council in June 2015.  David is a member of the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association.

Patrice O’Brien has practiced as a civil trial lawyer for over 20 years in the areas of medical malpractice, products liability and environmental, toxic and mass torts in the mid-Atlantic region.  She received her undergraduate degree from Delaware Valley College, magna cum laude, in 1983, and her law degree from Columbus School of Law at Catholic University in 1986.  Patrice is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.  She serves as a co-chair of the Medical-Legal Committee of the State Civil Litigation Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association.  For the past eight years, she has been the captain of Rawle & Henderson LLP’s race team for the annual Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure, helping to raise funds to find a cure for breast cancer.

Cheng I. To concentrates her practice on the defense of commercial motor vehicle companies, casualty and premises liability matters, workers’ compensation litigation and employment law matters.  She graduated from Bryn Mawr College in 2004 with a B.A. in Philosophy and a J.D. from Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law in 2007.  While at Temple, Cheng was invited to join the Moot Court Appellate Advocacy Honor Society based on her performance in the Samuel Polsky Moot Court Competition. She was also a member of the I. Herman Stern Competition Committee. During law school, she was a Certified Legal Intern at the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and SEPTA. Prior to joining the firm, Cheng served as a Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Joseph E. Kane of the Atlantic County Superior Court, Civil Division.  She is admitted to practice in the state courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court of New Jersey.  Cheng participated in the 2014 TIPS/ABOTA National Trial Academy at the National Judicial College in Reno, Nevada.  She was one of 23 attorneys who graduated from this selective and intensive trial practice program.

NEW DELAWARE ATTORNEYS

Michael J. Logullo has joined our Wilmington, Delaware office as Of Counsel to the firm.  He concentrates his practice in the areas of medical professional liability, casualty and premises liability, property damage, subrogation, construction accidents and product liability claims.

An experienced trial attorney, Michael has handled all aspects of litigation in a variety of cases. He is admitted to practice in Delaware, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the Supreme Court of Delaware and the U.S. Supreme Court. Michael is a member of the Delaware State Bar Association, the Defense Counsel of Delaware, and DRI. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Alex Smalls of the Delaware Court of Common Pleas from September 1999 to August 2000.

Michael was selected as a top attorney in insurance defense by Delaware Today Magazine in 2015.  He received a Rising Star Award in 2010 from OMSNIC, a national insurance company that provides insurance to oral and maxillofacial surgeons.

Michael earned his J.D. in 1998 from the Widener University School of Law. He was on the Dean’s Honors List for the Spring 1997 and Spring 1998 semesters and was a member of the legal honor society Phi Delta Phi, Harrington Inn Honor Chapter.  In addition, he earned a Certificate of Achievement in Sales and Leases.   Michael earned his B.S. in Business Administration in 1994 from the University of Delaware. He was on the Dean’s List for five semesters and also was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society and the Mu Iota Sigma Honor Society.

Michael has given lectures on personal injury and premises liability law.  He is a certified mediator by the Delaware Superior Court.  He volunteers as a coach for the Delaware High School Mock Trial Competition.

Laura Bower Braunsberg is an associate in our Delaware office.  She concentrates her practice on commercial litigation.  She earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2010.  While attending law school, Laura served as an Editor for the Virginia Law Review and as President of the National Trial Advocacy Team.  She earned her B.A., magna cum laude, in Philosophy, Japanese, and East Asian Studies from Macalester College in 2006.

Since graduating law school, Laura has represented corporations engaged in high stakes shareholder and commercial litigation before the Delaware Court of Chancery.  She also assisted with a large scale international FCPA investigation.  In the summer of 2014, Laura took a break from practice to clerk for newly appointed Chancellor Andre G. Bouchard of the Delaware Court of Chancery.

Laura is the Head Coach for the University of Delaware Mock Trial team, which placed 10th in its division at the National Championship in 2015 and won the Spirit of AMTA (American Mock Trial Association) award at its regional tournament for its collegiality and good sportsmanship. 

Laura represents victims of domestic violence through Delaware Volunteer Legal Services and children in foster care through the Office of the Child Advocate.
