Rawle & Henderson’s Municipal and Civil Rights Practice Group defends local municipalities and school districts in federal and state litigation, including but not limited to, civil rights actions brought under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 alleging, among other things, unlawful excessive force under the Fourth and Fourteenth Amendments by police officers and the municipalities that employ them.

Our Municipal Liability and Civil Rights Practice group also defends municipalities, school districts, public libraries, and other public entities in lawsuits alleging discrimination and human rights claims under state and federal statutory, constitutional and regulatory law, including but not limited to, the defense of a public entity that allegedly retaliated against an employee for exercising free speech under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

The Municipal Liability and Civil Rights Practice Group also defends personal injury and property damage litigation involving motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall incidents, public utility actions, and real and personal property damage claims.
