Philadelphia Partner Brett A. Wolfson to be honored for Child Advocacy

Published on February 10, 2023

On April 19th, the Support Center for Child Advocates (SCCA) will honor Philadelphia Partner Brett A. Wolfson with the Eddie Ohlbaum Distinguished Advocate for Children award. The Support Center for Child Advocates has provided legal help and social service advocacy for Philadelphia’s abused and neglected children for more than 40 years.

The Eddie Ohlbaum Distinguished Advocate for Children award is a prestigious honor given to a volunteer for their outstanding service in the organization. Mr. Wolfson has been a volunteer attorney for Child Advocates since 2010. As a volunteer, he represents children forced into Philadelphia’s foster system for reasons that include unfit parenting due to abuse, neglect or imprisonment. During this time, he has successfully helped two children find permanent adoptive homes and successfully helped reunite a third child with her mother during the pandemic. Currently, he is representing a family of five siblings. Brett annually volunteers during the holiday season to deliver gifts to foster homes of children who are represented by the Support Center. He has also co-authored an article with the Support Center that directly impacted the way foster children are represented in court.
