New York NY (July 24, 2023) – Rawle & Henderson LLP is pleased to announce that partner Anthony D. Luis obtained a defense verdict for a national commercial trucking company and its driver, in a trial in the New York County Civil Court on July 20, 2023. The Plaintiff, who was driving an automobile, alleged that he sustained property damage that was caused by the negligence of the trucking company and its driver.

Specifically, Plaintiff alleged that the truck driver was negligent by unsafely changing lanes and causing the collision.  Mr. Luis successfully refuted Plaintiff’s claims by introducing testimony and photographs from the scene proving that the truck driver was driving in his lane and proceeding straight when the collision occurred.

The Court rendered a verdict in favor of the defendant trucking company and its driver after hearing testimony and considering the photographic evidence.

Associate Ramzy Dawoud was integral in obtaining the defense verdict, assisting in the preparation of the trial. This is Mr. Luis’s second defense verdict in 2023.
