Jessica Link Martyn, Rawle & Henderson’s Maritime Section Co-Chair, attended the Maritime Law Association (“MLA”) of the United States’ Fall Meeting from October 26-30 at the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego.
Ms. Martyn is the Vice-Chair of the MLA’s International Organizations Conventions and Standards Committee, a member of the Proctor Admissions Committee and she has served on the San Diego Fall Meeting Arrangements Committee. This year, Ms. Martyn helped organize a fun run and a spa event. Her hard work gave attendees a chance to network with other attorneys while enjoying beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean.
The MLA’s Fall Meeting featured timely maritime law updates, an in-depth look at the U.S. and London insurance markets and their respective appetites for risk, the new reality of Russia sanctions, the current state of supply chain disruptions, legal ethics and recent developments in maritime personal injury. In addition, the MLAUS had the honor of hosting the Chief Counsel and Judge Advocate General of the United States Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Melissa Bert, who spoke about Domestic and International developments relating to maritime sexual assault and cyber security. Members of the Coast Guard Office of Maritime and International Law also presented on numerous other relevant topics.
