Raymond A. Swan is of Counsel to Rawle & Henderson, and serves his clients from the firm’s Philadelphia office. Mr. Swan is a civil defense litigator with more than 20 jury trial verdicts, and more than 100 arbitrations and mediations in a wide variety of cases. His cases include matters of property subrogation, casualty, product liability, workers’ compensation and insurance defense.

After graduating the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1984, Mr. Swan clerked for the Honorable Thomas C. Mannix of the Court of Common Pleas for Beaver County, Pennsylvania. He then joined the Office of the Chief Counsel for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as an Assistant Counsel, serving there through 1988.

Mr. Swan joined Rawle & Henderson in 2021. Prior to joining Rawle he worked for a large commercial insurance company as a trial attorney, managed a regional Pennsylvania office and served as national coordinating counsel for all its large property subrogation files. Mr. Swan also worked for insurance defense firms in the Greater Philadelphia area, where he represented clients in casualty, product liability and workers’ compensation matters.
