John T. Evans is Of Counsel in Rawle & Henderson, LLP’s New York City office. Mr. Evans regularly defends medical professions in malpractice and wrongful death cases and in disciplinary matters before both the New York Department of Health and Office of Professional Medical Conduct.

Mr. Evans regularly tries high exposure, medical malpractice cases to successful verdict and has been recognized as one of the leading New York City defense attorneys. In recent years, Mr. Evans successfully obtained defense verdicts in both complex obstetrical cases for his physician clients and in cases involving infant traumatic brain injuries and wrongful death.

Mr. Evans began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the New York County District Attorney’s Office. During his five years tenure , Mr. Evans tried a number of high-profile homicide cases to verdict. Mr. Evans has tried criminal defense matters and argued appeals in both New York state and federal courts.

From 1985 to 2019, Mr. Evans was a partner in a boutique firm that represented professionals, corporations and individuals throughout the NY metropolitan area in malpractice and personal injury defense and commercial law matters. While at this firm, Mr. Evans tried a numerous high exposure cases to verdict.
